remot3.it installs a daemon for each connection but requires a corresponding service/daemon to be running on the device.
So for example, if you install a remot3.it SSH connection, it will configure the weavedconnectd daemon to connect to a tcp socket on your device on port 22. If there's something wrong with the other daemon, but the weavedconnectd daemon is still running, the service will appear as "active" anyway.
So it sounds to me as though there is something unusual about your SSH configuration or somehow SSH is actually not running. The most recent versions of the Raspbian OS do NOT enable SSH by default.
Is there anything that you're aware of that changed from the first time when it was working?
